Chinese New Year is just around the coroner! It is fast approaching and the merchants are getting ready. Have you thought about where you want to spend New Years? It is time to make sure your reservations are booked. It is time to prepare for the coming, of The Year Of The Goat.

The Goat is the 8th animal in the Chinese zodiac. The 12 zodiac animals are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. According to Chinese astrology, each New Year  is affiliated with its animal sign, occurring in a 12-year cycle. Thus this is, The Year Of The Goat.

Chinese New Year is a week of celebration. The Asians prepare vigorously for this day. When it arrives, it is party time in Asia. The children will have all the sweets they can imagine, though Asian sweets are not as sugar laden as Western confectuaries.  Red lanterns will hang everywhere and merchants will have plenty of these to buy.  Red is a color of prosperity in Asia.  You will see a sea of red lanterns hanging in every home. The Year Of The Goat will arrive with decorations of goats everywhere. There will be lantern festivals! You will see lions and dragons dancing in the streets of Taiwan. Large banquets will be hosted. People will make special offerings to their household gods. New clothes will have been bought or made, mostly in red. There will be fantastic  parades and aerobatic demonstrations. Gongs, and cymbals will sound throughout every Asian Community world wide . Welcome to The Year Of The Goat!
