Dragon Boat Festival Nan Liao Port Taiwan

Dragon Boat Races in Nan Liao Port Taiwan is an ancient Chinese sport alive with tradition.1This weekend in Taiwan we where able to see the Dragon Boat Festival Nan Liao Port Taiwan for the first time, and to spend time in the festival grounds. There was food, games, and races with a great family feel to the whole event. It started early with the opening ceremony, and politicians evens getting involved. The local county mayor was on hand to commemorate the event, and to show the importance he brings to the community during this time. Ceremony included the assembly of every person from every race team who was participating; where they were put onto a pedestal with an almost warrior like status. Meaning that both the leaders, and the participates took this event very serious. The opening the race included a chant revving up the racers with the mayor, and local team spirit that was outlandish and very exciting at the same time. The start of the race was great, and the crowd was full in excitement. The video of the start is above for everyone to view, and to share. Dragon Boat Festival 2014 Hsinchu County Mayor and Team2 The fair had some games for small children, and food for everyone to choose from.
