Southern Malaysia, Malacca Straits

Our trip to Malaysia was exciting due to the fact we had not been back for about ten years. We used a local travel agent  here in Taiwan, and that turned out to be a mistake. She only put us into an expensive resort too far away from anything we would like to do. However we were able to travel along one of the rivers in the area to view wildlife, and the mangroves. The highlight was some local’s small monkey deciding to crawl up to my chest with no warning; I suppose he wanted something I had but I was surprising for sure.  We did dig for fresh water clams along the

banks, and planting many mangroves in an area that was in need. Our local tour guide was great, and really enjoyed the conversation, and the many talks on conservation of the area.

We took several trips into Kuala Lumpur , and the bird park sanctuary is amazing.

We spent several hours there and explored the whole park, really enjoying the feeding area, and the bird diversity was great as well. We did have some downpours while we were there, and had to take shelter a few times.  We highly recommend a visit to this Bird Park, and a shopping trip to Kula Lumpar.

There are some really good deals to be found in the famous central market downtown KL.

Touring Kula Lumpar is best done by car hire so you can go where you want when you want it. That way you can travel around the city, and get dropped off at Petronas Towers in the best 417938_4094594302730_419969_npossible spot for photos. There is a very large mall next door with some great food possibilities that and yes have air conditioning. This area is very hot , and you will enjoy the break from the heat.

From there we went around the city sightseeing and taking photos of monuments, and mosques. There is really too much to see, and we would recommend staying in the city 1-2 days close to the action.

So I hope you too can go have a great time exploring Malaysia.
