hello everyone welcome to orenco station I’m here at Central Park which is the biggest park here in the area of Aruba station Hillsboro Oregon so before we get going I want to like ask you to subscribe like and share these videos it helps us to gain more viewers and it helps us to get people just to be able to see the content there on YouTube or on Facebook or wherever you’re watching this video so I’m going to take you on a walking tour this is the second part of the tour the first part was done in evening time and this time’s done in kind of the late afternoon and of course if you look carefully behind me you will see that we are very close to one of the largest um semiconductive factories in the world which is with Intel Corporation so this is the neighborhood that’s very close to them in walking distance to Silicon Forest is what they call it so I’m going to take down a walking tour so let’s get going see you down the walkway okay so we are starting here in Central Park Hillsboro Oregon marinco station area and we’re going to walk the neighborhood so you kind of get a feel for what’s going on over here it’s is kind of a it’s going to take you on this one Loop but this is the area a lot of these are home Homes single family homes but some of them are duplexes and this little Loop it looks like they’re mostly single family homes and you can get them for rent and get them you know some of them are short-term rentals some of them are long-term and a lot of oranges you know for sale there’s several parks with inside this community some of them are connected to apartment complexes or Quantum complexes you can see that’s Intel I think that’s our front of the office I’m not sure

so if you work at the factory and you’re part of their manufacturing facility or engineering or so that’s a wrinkle Station Road right there so that’s how close you are literally walking distance

so we’re gonna walk around this neighborhood a little bit [Music] and then we’re going to retreat back to where some of the stuff that you saw in the first video this is what it’s a nice safe little bubble a lot of people within the high-tech world like to move to or at least check it out consider it so hopefully you’ll find this useful a lot of people walk their dogs in this neighborhood it’s quite quite popular

from all the nests there’s a lot of birds that live around here so this is a nice place to you know just relax take your pets for a walk

push your kids around in the stroller whatever you’re in the mood for [Music]

people like to go around jogging here so anyway those townhouses [Music] see those listed for short-term rentals quite often so you probably can find them on some kind of service like Airbnb or something I mentioned that earlier they’re definitely involved on the internet so this style of neighborhood just kind of goes on for about

two blocks in that direction

we’re going to go down here on the wrinkle Road Rinko Station Road

and call us to Mary Poppins Style show you an area that I know these are short-term rentals

so there’s a number

[Music] I need that information there it is there’s some restaurants over here and I’ll show them to you once more

that’s the Indian restaurant over there it’s kind of a parking area for people that live over there

you need a real estate agent for this area Windermere they’re right here so they definitely would be able to tell you what’s going on

see those townhouses all about their own garage and I think yeah then some of them are attached some of our detached

this is the area that has the Farmer’s Market so if they’re looking for some local vegetables local crafts a good place to find it is right here that’s called the Rinko office suites so a lot of your account in some lawyers and stuff you kind of hang out there this is a pre-planned community we were checking this area out I think the last time we had checked it out was like 2003 and none of this had been built yet they’re starting to build some of the infrastructure of this whole area was already in existence

welcome everybody to a Rinko station nighttime walk

so this is a bubble and we wanted to show you what it was like in the night time and so I’m going to give you a walk through the whole orenco station area show you all of the different uh General kind of overview of what this particular area has to offer so this area has got some hotels that aren’t too far away but it also has different uh housing options so some people may want to live here on a short-term basis there’s some apartment complexes I’m going to show you those as we walk along and right now I’m actually going to start kind of over by the supermarket it’s got a nice kind of a yuckiest Supermarket with a lot of different uh options this is post holiday so a lot of the Christmas lights have come down but there is some few there’s a few going on out there so with that being said I’m going to show you this grocery store here as we come up on what’s called this New Seasons Market I’m gonna turn around real quick and just kind of give you a view of this neighborhood and at at night I think it’s important to see what a place looks like in the evening time real people kind of have a tendency to work here this is the area that has been dubbed silicon Forest because of Intel and a lot of the companies that have moved out here because they want to be close to Intel this is one of their large infrastructural research areas but there’s other companies out here as well such as Anki several others I’ve seen several it’s really built up over the years New Seasons Market

and when you look at the daytime video you’re going to get a slightly different View um but I want you to see the activity that’s happening here kind of the general safety feel of the place it feels very safe so you can see it’s not a huge Market but this is kind of like I don’t know the closest I could be quite New Seasons to is Whole Foods you know Whole Foods by Amazon

next to them is the kitchen caboodle when you look up on all these cool Apartments there’s actually people living in them

[Music] so there’s a quite a few um apartments for rent here and I’ve looked up Airbnb in this area there’s Airbnb available so you can get temporary rentals you basically have your options

this area is obviously very close to Intel very close to Nike there’s another Semiconductor Company not that far away there’s offices like there’s accountants and lawyers dental offices it’s just a wide array of businesses

I wasn’t here visiting during the covet time so I don’t know how active it was but these days I mean is it back to normal it’s probably pretty close

now a lot of these apartments in this area I’m going to pan to the left over here

I’ve seen them on short-term rentals so I know they exist and it’s a pretty cute little area actually now for the most part during the holidays there was a lot more Christmas lights but now things are changing and their people are kind of probably trying to get ready for spring but they’ve got a little more time left

[Music] s down there this restaurant right here is the Indian restaurant it’s very good very good curries we really like this place and then uh if you look here you’ve got Corner offices this is the area where I see airbnb’s a lot especially there’s some short-term rentals on the bottom I kind of call these the Mary Poppins little apartments I think they’re kind of cute obviously someone still got the Christmas tree up across the street here and so you can see the name of the Indian restaurant they have a really good veg menu so if you’re you don’t eat meat these guys can definitely help you out these restaurants are open right now they’re active that’s a Japanese place that’s open at night a lot of activity there it’s very small I think this is a nice thing to have close by our Providence Express Care just a little clinic of course there’s hospitals pretty much in every direction

if you want to spin a little more and a good steak definitely recommend their wrinkle Station Grill it’s very good [Music] place as we’re coming up here on the left

I’m going to butcher the French words but show you

houseless drawer [Music] see this is like a coffee place it’s got a lot of snacks they’re closing up for the night they’re pretty much open in the daytime Bishop’s barber shops kind of popular in this area don’t know anything about this Orthodontics place but I’ve gotten some haircuts one time I usually go to another place but they did okay

that’s Salon bar that’s not a bar bar that’s for women to get their nails done so it might get a little dark over here

so today I’m in the Northern Western tip of the state of Oregon at Fort Stevens State Park [Music] I’m hiking out towards the beach trying to find an old shipwreck sometimes it’s kind of a famous thing for this location so I’m trying to check it out I’m going to kind of show you as I walk up to it and give you a glimpse of what it looks like and before we go too much further I just want to thank everybody for watching our videos here on YouTube and possibly Facebook make sure to like share our content it helps you get around

visibility is much harder than most people think unless you are like paying thousands of dollars to get that advertising only your Die Hard supporters really see it so please take a look at all the rest of the videos and head on over to exploretraveler.com before we have more content so I’m gonna now I’m gonna kind of like switch over I’m gonna follow the trail I’ll show you where I’m at we’re going to walk down to the what’s left of the Shipwreck

so I did a little research on Fort Stevens and it’s kind of one of the very few places outside of Alaska that even had any interaction with foreign forces at World War II it’s quite reinforced [Music] its waves look

honestly pretty big for Oregon I mean we’re not in Hawaii or anything

dad said there are some Riptides going on

thank you it’s definitely been here a while

I’d say it’s kind of a front piece but it’s kind of hard for me to tell

so this is the Shipwreck that’s left here at Fort Stevens there’s some actually there’s a couple piece spread out

like

moving down the beach here it’s just a beautiful walk I can see my people take their dogs out here

yeah it’s pretty nice okay so now I’m at another main point of interest it’s called battery Russell basically this is the old kind of artillery

location, where they could fire upon ships out of the ocean [Music], see

we wear very well abandoned

very thick I mean

dark in here I don’t think this goes any further [Music] mine is at one time Frozen concrete

kind of a lonely place to be stationed back in the day foreign ER

curious [Music] do you know what else did you do this is where the cannon would have been held here and pictures of what we’ve got it’s a very very large probably a Howitzer is okay [Music] this guy rusted metal and concrete mix this is this place was definitely meant to last I mean look at these rooms they’re actually quite big some are small but

I actually lived here [Music] like definitely had the capability of doing so okay another one of those stairs that go back up

okay so I just came back out

inside the second cannon all right so we’re going towards obviously a wildlife viewing bunker we’re still at Fort Stevens this area is used protected habitat for waterfowl I think there’s some limited hunting allowed during a very specific season but it’s

so limited that I’m sure there’s a waterfowl during the breeding season anyway

this is obviously another part of the bunker system Fort Stevens had during its Heyday would have been the early 1900s

this area it’s kind of probably behind me but it opens up into the Columbia River

Sugar Pines that’s where I came from over there

swash Lake

and that is

all right so I’m out and it’s called the South jetty

it’s kind of what it looks like there’s a little weather station there

kind of the claim restoration work [Music] which they claim because I never know what they’re really up to

it’s just over here

a little lookout tower and climb up

usually

it’s a beautiful day it’s I mean it’s windy but here on the coast that’s normal but it’s uh just a rough takeaway

still, at Fort Stevens, this is uh March Park and I think it’s an example of a place where people can go to it’s not very crowded not consider this place but I would see you know a full handy now it’s accessible but it is uh there’s a couple area right so if you’ve got some

blocking capability you’re probably still doing a little bit I will bring a little chair where you can sit down because [Music] is like a lighthouse out there

so we’re at the South jetty going to try to see what other places we can find

if you look right here that is the entryway to the Columbia River they’ve got it blocked off with this restoration project.
