Most RVers Choose the Wrong RV Park

Most bad RV stays happen before you arrive.

This short explains the simple decision filter experienced RVers use to avoid choosing places that don’t match how they actually travel — without relying on star ratings or hype.

Before you book: three checks for a better-fit RV site

Use the video as a starting point, then compare each campground with the way you plan to travel.

  1. Fit: Confirm that the actual site and its approach suit your rig, any towed vehicle, and the space you need. Ask about the assigned site rather than relying only on a park-wide maximum length.
  2. Services and cost: Check which hookups and facilities are included, whether the electrical service matches your RV’s requirements, and the full price for your dates. Do not assume a site-type label answers every question.
  3. Arrival and stay: Confirm check-in and late-arrival instructions, the rules that matter to your party, and the cancellation terms. Separate your must-haves from amenities you can do without.

If a must-have remains unconfirmed, pause the booking and compare another option. Keep the campground’s answer and the date checked with your reservation notes.

For vehicle limits and setup procedures, follow your RV manufacturer’s instructions and the campground’s current guidance.
