? CRITICAL STORM RV CHECKLIST (DO THIS NOW)
Before storms arrive, RVers should immediately:
⛈️ LOCATION & POSITION
• Check weather alerts for wind, hail, flooding, tornado risk
• Avoid low ground and dry washes (flash flood zones)
• Point RV nose into wind when possible
• Retract awnings, steps, slides if conditions worsen
? POWER & ELECTRICAL
• Disconnect shore power if severe lightning or surges are expected
• Turn off non-essential breakers
• Secure generators and fuel cans
• Ensure surge protector is functioning
? EXTERIOR SECURE
• Lock down or stow chairs, grills, mats, tools
• Close and lock all exterior compartments
• Verify roof vents are properly closed (or storm-rated open)
• Check antenna, Starlink, solar mounts for tightness
? VEHICLE & MOBILITY
• Keep truck hitched if evacuation becomes necessary
• Fuel tank at least ½ full
• Keys, wallet, documents in one grab-and-go location
? WATER & INTERIOR
• Top off fresh water if safe
• Close roof vents if heavy rain or hail is expected
• Secure loose interior items
• Know where towels are in case of leaks
? COMMS & SAFETY
• Phone charged + battery bank ready
• NOAA weather alerts or local emergency notifications ON
• Headlamp or flashlight accessible
• Shoes and rain gear staged by the door
