Canyon Lands National Park Adventure – John Gentry – ExploreTraveler
This is a great National park for hiking. There are several camping spots within the park, and just out of the park on BLM land. The views, vista’s and rock formations are out of this world. The hikes vary in length and the difficulty over various terrains. We work hard to give everyone a zero-cost informational experience. Please support us by liking, sharing, and supporting us by buying some outdoor food, camping, hiking, camera gear, and more at the https://preppingfoods.com affiliate website.

ExplorerTraveler presents canyonlands national park. Well I’m going to take you on some hikes going to show you the general idea of what the rock formations look like you can see from behind me when they say canyonlands they really mean it um before we go too far please go over share from youtube share from Facebook to those social media to your others like share and if you’re on youtube click that bell so others um it just helps us to reach more people and it also lets you get a notification when we post new videos I usually only post one a week at the most and usually it’s just a couple a month just depends on where I’m at so we’re going to take you on some trails um make sure you bring lots of water while you’re out here I mean I’ve got some food I’ve got some gear got my um you know camera and also my camera stand so I’m kind of prepared for some long hikes today and over the next couple days so I look forward to seeing all of you further on down the trail
okay so let’s start off
at this beautiful overlook here and you can actually see trails on these plateaus they’ve probably been there for thousands of years see I went over there way off in the distance people have transversed this area
I know that uh I think it’s called the ute or ute people they lived in this area or somewhere close to here because I’ve seen their petroglyphs so I assume that they probably use these trails so I’m hiking along this cliffside here it’s one if I don’t know thousands of trails here in Canyonlands national park
don’t forget to get your lifetime pass for the national park it’s well worth it and you’ll enjoy it for the rest of your life especially if you’re ex-military you can get it for free i think it falls under the disability category because most of us come out with at least you know a banged-up knee or something
i’m gonna go over here see the view from this other side and we’re going to circle back we’re kind of off the beaten trail a little bit
it’s beautiful out here take unnecessary risks if you see from my feral um people article a lot of people get hurt trying to take a selfie there’s no need to get excessively close to the end of the cliffs you can see it just fine without getting right up on
it I’m gonna zoom in here for you
look at that it’s almost like cathedral-like
we’re gonna go over here see what’s up here and then we’re gonna loop back around
this area is called the grand view
it lives up to its name
the pass is pretty unmarked except by ice over thousands of years ago so you kind of have to make your own path
that’s well worth it if you look over here just find a weather station in the distance
oh
see that’s the one thing about this national park you really do not know what’s on the other side
I was thinking we’re going to end up over there somewhere but
we actually ended up over here
and
I don’t think I’m gonna be going much further but let’s see
give an adventurous spirit this is a great place to go
get some fresh air
get some exercise
get away from the
the craziness that goes on these days
yeah a little weather station pretty nice looking
look at that
I’m actually not sure how far I can go
during the busy times of the day, the parking for these trails is
actually quite difficult
right now there’s parking available since most of these people are going back to a hotel I’m staying somewhere in the park so I don’t really care
you may or may not find a camping spa you can’t assume it’s first come first serve
these wild junipers
see I’m getting photos along the way
keep in mind that
almost always have an article that accompanies each video so look below in the comments for the link if you don’t see it right away that doesn’t mean it won’t be there soon normally I post the video first
it usually takes me about a good week
to actually get the articles done because I try to put some captions with photos so
when people find stuff on the internet they see kind of general speaking you know what the picture belongs to
so we’re gonna go kind of back to where we came sort of and there’s another trail
that is actually much more used we’re kind of out in the middle of nowhere right now but
