Father’s Day Remembrance

Happy Fathers Day

Father’s Day Remembrance

Happy father’s Day to all the Fathers out there from Exploretraveler.com.  Fathers are very unique. They are special! They are special men who choose to be a parent. They are unique men who stand up and become a father figure for a child without a father. They come from every walk of life, every religion, or no religion. The have more influence on a child than 100 school teachers. They are more important than 100 Sunday School teachers or other religious instructors. They have the unique responsibility of raising up a child and instilling in them all the qualities they will need to be successful. What an awesome responsibility! In the face of all this responsibility and effort, we wish you a very Happy Father’s Day.

The first known Father’s Day celebration in the USA was in Spokane on June 19, 1910. It was not until 1966 that President Lyndon B. Johnson declared that this third Sunday in June would officially be Father’s Day. Father’s Day is celebrated somewhere almost every month of the year. More than 70 countries world-wide celebrate it on the third week of June. Many others celebrate on different dates from January to December.

The greatest gift I ever had
Came from God; I call him Dad!
~Author Unknown

A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail…”

To all the fathers out there. Enjoy your day! Fire up the BBQ! Go fishing or read a book! It is your day, enjoy.
